Amon Amarth's New Drummer

The Name Is Jocke Wallgren

After 17 years with the band Fredrik Andersson has left and ended his cooperation with the band.So the band had just confirmed a new permanent drummer with the name Jocke Wallgren . Jocke has been on tour with band long before they decide to make him a member of the band . The band made an official announcement via the media : 

"The Gods smile on Jocke Wallgren today.
Amon Amarth is pleased to announce that Jocke Wallgren is the new permanent band drummer. Jocke has been playing with Amon Amarth for all shows on the current “Jomsviking” world tour.
Amon Amarth comments, “We are happy to have Jocke with us as a permanent band member. He has done a great job for us on the current world tour, bringing excellent drumming with a positive attitude and great personality, something that will definitely benefit Amon Amarth for years to come.”
Says Jocke, “I’m super excited to jump aboard the unstoppable Amon Amarth longship! My predecessors have inspired me greatly throughout the years and I will do my best to honor the legacy that is Amon Amarth.”

What Was Your First Show Like?

A Nameless Ghoul (bass): “Our first show as Ghost was actually outside of Sweden – it was in Germany [in 2010]! It was shaky, I would say. We had rehearsed a little, for a month or two, but we hadn’t really been a band for a long time. And it was a little bit odd playing in costumes – we’d never really done that together before. I think the reaction was quite good. It was in a forum that was very open to what we were at that time, because at that point I think we were regarded as an ‘underground’ phenomenon. The day after, our second-ever show, in London, was definitely a bigger happening for us. There was a small festival at the Camden Underworld,we had a really late-night slot, and there was a lot of excitement there. That was our first show where we really felt, ‘Wow, this can become something.’”

  How Did It Feel To Win A Grammy This Years?
 

“Great, fantastic. It’s a big honour for anybody to win, but for us it meant a lot extra, because we’re a Swedish band. Swedish artists are seldom nominated, and if they are, it’s usually singular artists in the pop world, or the songwriters.

Airborne Singer Fell Of Stage Breaks His Leg And Stills Finish Concert

It seems like we got a hero here.During Airbourne's recent show in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, frontman Joel O'Keeffe fell of the stage and breaks his leg . Although the pain the singer stand up with the help of the crew and finshed the song and the whole gig(Badass)

The video uploader noted: "During the encore of 'Running Wild,' lead singer of Airbourne Joel O'Keeffe was in the middle of his guitar solo when he fell off the stage. He was badly injured, and was picked up by his crew who brought him back to the stage and held on to him (out of view) while he finished the song. My iPhone ran out of storage so the clip ends before we see them bring a chair out for him to sit on while he finished. He tore ligaments, rumor also says broken leg, and will be completing the tour in a cast." Video Down below :

Suicide Silence About 5th Album

Suicide Silence Confirm Self Titled Album In February

 

So Suicide Silence two years after their last album "You Cant Stop Me" which came second on Hard Rock Chart and published by the Nuclear Blast Record.So now in an interview the band confirmed that they will release their fifth album which will be self titled and will be released in February.It will be the second album that the new frontman Eddie Hermida will made with the band.

As Mark Heylmun report in an interview :
The record’s going to be natural, raw and fucking pissed. It’s going to be exactly what music needs, which is some fucking heart. Some fucking blood. Some real fucking give-a-shit passion.
“It’s not going to be full of computer trickery. It’s not going to sound like all the ProTools ninjas and Logic ninjas.
“We recorded with tape on this record. There’s real music, it’s not samples. We went for a record that speaks for us and really exemplifies where we’re at as a band.
“It’s going to be something else for people to witness – like a car accident they can’t keep their eyes off.”
He added that the band refused to be distracted by “music industry bullshit” and the result was “Suicide Silence doing what Suicide Silence wants to do.”

Mastodon's Bill Kelliher Re-Learning Old Songs From Youtube

I have to go on YouTube and watch someone who learned our song and see how they play it because I can't remember

All of us who play guitar can remember a specific number of songs that depends on the player but if you ask me to play a song that i played 5 years ago i propably wouldnt remember it.It happens with all of the guitarist even with Bill Kelliher of Mastodon.Mastodon has 80 songs and its normal that he forgets some of thems.As he says in interview :


"Sometimes the songs change a little bit if we keep playing them over and over.
We have 80 songs or something, so before the tours sometimes I have to go on YouTube and watch someone who learned our song and see how they play it because I can't remember. I'm the one who always does it and then I show the other guys."

Today’s lesson is about following your dreams. And persistence. And about getting lucky. All of these things were on display in Charleston, S.C. last night (Sept. 20), and it was inspiring (or entertaining at least).”
“Just like every other night, the band played a show. And just like every other night, there were a bunch of people in attendance. But unlike every other night, there was a guy out in the crowd holding up a t-shirt that said ‘Let me play drums on Would?!’ To his credit, he kept holding that shirt up throughout the show. And it paid off. The band had played the entire show, taken a break, came back out for the encore, played the first two songs of the encore, and were down to their last song. Which happened to be Would?.”
“That’s when Sean [Kinney] came out from behind his kit, went up to Jerry’s microphone, and told the guy to come up on stage,” relayed Baldy. “They threw a set of headphones on him so he could hear Mike [Inez] and Jerry [Cantrell] and William [DuVall], and after a quick warm-up to prove he could actually play, they were off to the races. Mike stepped up onto the drum riser and began the intro, Jerry joined in, and then it was drum time. He started in at the right time, and although he had a couple of shaky moments, overall he did pretty good. Sean stood off to the side watching, while Jerry, Mike and William all kept looking back at him or going up on the riser to make sure he stayed in time. Then towards the end of the song, for one terrifying moment, it all stopped. It didn’t last long, but there was a second there when everyone thought our fill-in drummer had run out of gas, but a split second later he was back at it. He made his way to the end of the song, and the crowd went nuts.”
“Back in the old days, it wasn’t terribly unusual for Sean to bring people up from out in the crowd to attempt a drum solo or try and play a song. We talked about that on the bus after the show, and as Jerry said, ‘No one ever made it all the way through. They’d always get nervous and flame out.’ But one brave soul in Charleston, S.C. made it all the way to the finish line. So kudos to you sir. You’re an inspiration to people everywhere that are armed with only a blank white t-shirt, a sharpie, and a dream. But I should mention that this little story is in no way to be taken as an endorsement or encouragement of that kind of request. This dude caught the band in a good mood and got lucky after all. Don’t think that just because this guy hit paydirt that the band is suddenly going to start granting every request that’s scribbled on a shirt and held up at the show. Holding up a sign asking William to contribute to your 401K or for Jerry to come to your house and meet your sister doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. But I suppose it never hurts to try.”

"I wanted it to be diverse. I didn't want any two songs to sound alike. If I had a heavy song, I would deliberately write something completely different when it came to the next one. There's a few things in there that I don't think we've ever done before, no crazy hip-hop beats or anything like that but a few things that I think sound really new and fresh. Even the things on there that are more vintage Opeth sound fresh to my ears. Whether people will love it or hate it, I'm not sure, there'll be bits that a person loves and then bits that same person will hate, but that's business as usual for us."

New Soundgarden Album

After The Last Album 4 Years Ago We Got Something New

So we got detailes of the new Soundgarden album.Soundgarden after their late last album Down on the upside in 1994 and after 16 years without of break they release the King Animal in 2012.So now we got the new album going which is really nice for a band like Soundgarden a band that help define the grunge together with Nirvana,Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam.Kim Thayil reports tha there will be 12 songs on new album.Some details Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil shared in Full Metal Jackie :


“With any relationship – family, loved ones, boyfriend or girlfriend – after a period of time you grow apart.But after this long period of time we’re still sort of where we were at with each other. That’s been a very positive thing.When the band was not together we were all still in touch, sharing social circles and friends, so we were always doing things together and running into each other.It was just a matter of getting the four of us all on the same page and willing to do the work to keep the Soundgarden machine going the way it was when we split.I think the added maturity and growth is probably a bonus as well.”

“Matt and Chris, of course, are working on this Temple Of The Dog thing.
“ver the past year we’ve had a number of songwriting and jam sessions, getting together to exchange ideas and document and record them. We have some rough demos of a dozen or so songs.
We’ll continue to do this as everyone’s schedule opens up, and hopefully by next year we’ll find ourselves in the studio fleshing out these ideas.”

We Fucking Love Stoner Rock Here In Greece

And how could we not to! We have some of the best stoner rock/metal on the planet right now.I don't know if any of you know anything about music in Greece beyond sirtaki and all those things that the tourists are told when they come in groups in Athens or in our islands . But many well known bands like Firewind,Rotting Christ and Septic Flesh are all Greek and they have been loved by all over the world. However, almost no one really knows about us having some awesome stoner rock bands in Greece, but we do! So here are the best ones.

Nightstalker

Nightstalker is a band that was formed in 1989 and they have been continuing until today.Although, they started a long time ago, they have become more popular in Greece the last few years with songs like Children Of The Sun,Dead Rock Commandos and Baby God Is Dead.The band was formed in Athens.The band members are Argy Galiatsatos(Vocals), Andreas Lagios (Bass),Tolis Motsios (Guitar) and Dinos Roulos (Drums).Nightstalker is the band that when they perform live they give you the sense of old good classic rock.It's the sound and the influencies that help their sound as it's been said by them.Nighstalker have in their discography 6 albums with  Dead Rock Commandos being the last. Besides their tour in Greece, they have shows in Europe, too.Nowdays, they are touring in Greece and they have completed an album which will be realeased in October 7th on a disk and in November 4th on vinyl with the title ‘As Above, So Below’.They have revealed a video in youtube for their single Zombie Hour.

Its really unusual for a band to reveal not 1 not 2 but 3 songs before the album but usual is not a word that would describe Green Day.So they hit again with a new song called "Still Breathing".But this particular song is more emotional and radio friendly than the other two.It gives you the chills and its really beautiful though.Really love it its a mixture of classic Green Day and Modern Green Day with emotions. Also Billie spoke to Rolling Stone about it and said:
