New Queen Of The Stone Age Album This Year

Mastodon's Troy Sanders Confirms

While being interview by Rolling Stone magazine Troy Sanders was asked about Gone Is Gone supergroup. The supergroup consist of Troy Sanders (Mastodon) Troy Van Leeuwen (QOTSA) Tony Hajjar (Gone is Gone) And Mike Zarin . So Τroy revealed that actually the other Queens Of the Stone Age are on the studio too .

He told Rolling Stone: "I like to think none of us needs [Gone Is Gone], but we all really want this band. When that's the mentality, this is special to the four of us. Otherwise, we wouldn't dedicate the first week of 2017 to working on this band."

"For example, Queens of the Stone Age, Mastodon and At the Drive-In have all been recording, and we all have new records coming out this year.

"We've all been extremely busy writing and recording, and we're about to get super busy touring the world. So I believe we're all fulfilled to a certain degree with all we have going on. That sets a special tone for a very special thing we all share. This band doesn't bring us fame or money, but it brings us a different sense of fulfillment and energy that we all give each other."

New QOTSA album ???? This are some awesome news cause I  love them literally and lets hope the new album to be even greater than ...Like Clockwork!!Also As for Gone Is Gone, the boys are officially streaming their full-length debut "Echolocation," released on January 6 via Rise Records. You can give it a spin below.

I would like to thank Rolling Stone magazine for the infos and also Thanks For Reading And Please Like My Facebook Page! :-)

Metal Hammer Has Been Saved

Good News For Us But Especially For The Employees

Metal Hammer Logo
Great new for the Metal Hammer employees as they are back on work. If you are a metalhead you sure will know Metal Hammer the best magazine about metal and the oldest one I think . So the story with the magazine goes like this . In 2013 the former Metal Hammer Future Publishing has sold all the magazines, domain names, events, radio license and websites of Classic Rock, Metal Hammer, Prog, The Blues and The Golden Gods to Team Rock for £10.2 million .But this December Team Rock declared bankrupted as a result around 70 employees was fired and they haven't paid at all days before Christmas. But now future has come to the rescue . The company a few days ago bought the Metal Hammer again and has rehired all of its employees. But the thing that makes this story even greater is for how much the company bought it back . Its £800,000 !
That means that Future Publishing got a profit of £9.4 million ,that's insane! But the thing that really matters is that 70 people didn't lose their jobs ! I hope Metal Hammer to keep up the great work that they provide us and nothing like this happen ever again!

Cliff Burton Wasnt Really Into Metal

Lars Ulrich Reveals

If you are into Metallica long enough you sure have checked their first albums like Kill em All and Ride the Lightning . So Cliff Burton was bassist of this era.for the band until his tragic death in September 27 1986 when the tour bus went out of the road and fell on top of him. Over the years Metallica members have shared a lot of memories and facts about his life and now Lars does share some more facts . He share on a recent episode Talk Is Jericho :

“If you listen to the difference between Kill ‘Em All and Ride the Lightning, obviously there was this huge … the pallet was expanded. We’ve never experimented with harmonies, melodies … If you take ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls,’ that melody, ‘Fade to Black,’ the super-melodic outro—that was all stuff [Cliff] brought to the table. The intro of ‘Fight Fire with Fire,’ that was more or less his. There was this whole thing that came from the classical upbringing that he had."

“He studied classical music and he could sit down and talk with you about Bach and Beethoven and Tchaikovsky. In 1981, James Hetfield and I didn’t sit there and talk a lot about classical endeavors, you know? [Laughs] We had a little more narrow-minded outlook. So Cliff—he loved the energy, he loved the aggression, but I don’t think he was a big fan of like, Iron Maiden. I remember early on when we started traveling on the tour bus, I’d put on some Maiden or something—he didn’t get out of his seat to start banging up and down. [Chuckles]"

“I’d play some Maiden, some Diamond Head, and then he’d put on [ZZ Top’s] Rio Grande Mud or Degüello or some Yes album I’d never heard of, and I was like, ‘Huh?’ He’d sit there and fly the flag for Jethro Tull or … one band he loved was the Police, he’d always play the Police."

“His whole net was just really wide and really unencumbered by how it was supposed to be if you were in a metal band, which obviously James and I hadn’t quite graduated to at that time."

“Cliff, hands down, was the one that was the most musically varied at that time. Anybody that sits and goes, ‘Cliff wouldn’t have done this, Cliff wouldn’t have done that,’ it’s just a nonstarter of a conversation, because we don’t know. If you take like, ‘Enter Sandman,’ it’s a great riff and we tried a lot of stuff with [Jason] Newsted and it was just sort of like, just thumping straight eighth notes—it just works for the song! I don’t think Cliff would have said, ‘Fuck you, I’m not doing that!’ His thing was just what’s best for the song.”

Its really common for some musicians to write music that's not relevant to what they hear . So Cliff is not an exception. So the next time someone tells you that he down listen to metal don't look down on him and respect his opinion .

Good News For Tony Iommy's Health

Thats Some Good News For His Family

Last month we learnt that Black Sabbath's guitarist Tony Iommi  was diagnosed with a lump in his throat and all the rock and metal community has been sad because we thought 2016 was going to take another legend away . But this time we all got lucky. He got a surgery and the doctors find out that the lump was not cancerous .

He tells Planet Rock (via Blabbermouth):

"Well, I had the treatment when I got back from [touring] South America. I went in for the throat [operation]."

"They found a lump at the back of my sinus, in the throat, and we had to have it checked in case it may have been cancerous. But it turns out it wasn't, which I found out Christmas Day, which is brilliant. So far [I'm all good]. I daren't say that. I'll probably fall down the stairs now.
"

That's really good news especially for his family and for us . We hope 2017 wont take any more great rockstar !
