MASTODON Is Having An Overflow Of Ideas For Its Next Album Which Might Be A Double One!
Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanda, Georgia, formed in early 2000 and composed of bassist Troy Sanders, guitarists Brent Hinds and Bill Kelliher and drummer Brann Dailor. Their musical style features progressive concepts and unique instrumentation. All four members participate in vocals, creating a unique blend of singing styles and voices.Mastodon as a band is a blend of 4 talented musicians that they playing their music without the rules of the metal music just what they want and like and thats that the people loved beside their music !
After their last record once more around the sun (my favorite so far) Mastodon decided after their tour to write a new album!The fact is that According to a recent interview with Guitar World, guitarist Brent Hinds wrote an entire Mastodon album by himself titled Cold Dark Place, which is about a difficult breakup he'd recently gone through.
“It’s shaping up to be a double album. One is an album I wrote myself, and recorded with [drummer] Brann [Dailor] and [bassist/vocalist] Troy [Sanders] during the ‘Once More ‘Round The Sun‘ sessions. My part is called ‘Cold Dark Place‘, and it has to do with a nasty breakup that I went through. I wrote some pretty dark, beautiful, spooky, funky, ethereal, melancholy music, which also sounds like the Bee Gees a little bit. [laughs]Thats what Bred Hinds said.
The other guys are writing another album, which I haven’t even heard yet so I can’t tell you what it sounds like. But I’ll come in to give some noodle-y leads here and there. And for sure I’ll be recording with my new signature Flying V…while standing on top of a chair with a werewolf mask on. And that’s not a joke; I really do that. I never sit down to record. You can’t sit down and play a Flying V, everyone knows that.”
I personally loved Mastodon music and a really like the idea of a double album and listen to Mastodons new music even if they change their music as they want !
