Soad Have 15 New Songs That Match or Beat Anything We Did in the Past

It Seems Promising

Drummer of the band John Dolmayan talked about SOAD not releasing music for so long, telling X107.5 (via Blabbermouth):  don't know why we aren't coming out with an album. It's very disheartening...
"It seems like we all get along, we all have a great time touring, we still are putting together really good music. I think that we can put out a fantastic album."
He also talked about the band's decrease in touring activity, saying:
"I know a lot of our American fans are saying, 'Why don't you guys tour the States more often?'"We talked about it about two years ago. We said, 'Look, we haven't made an album' - at that point it was a decade only that we hadn't made an album - only one short decade, 'cause we have so many left...[Laughs] And we talked about it and we said, 'Look, let's make our album first.'""We had every intention of going in the studio and working on an album. As far as the timeline, everybody had their own opinion of when that was gonna happen. For me, it was 10 years ago, and then there's varying degrees of that."If I had my way, we would have put out five albums in the last 12 years. And I think we're really doing a disservice to ourselves, because you only have a finite amount of time."If anything proves anything, Chris Cornell passing away unexpectedly proves that at any given moment [it could all be gone]. It does put things into perspective, and you realize how much time you're wasting and how precious that time is."
Dolmayan also said he feels "really good" about the new music the band's been working on, adding:

"To be honest with you, if I didn't feel that way, I wouldn't even wanna broach putting together an album, because we do very well touring on our catalog."And, quite frankly, there's a lot of bands I wish wouldn't be putting out albums, 'cause they haven't put out a good album in a long time."We've been in the studio for the past year and we've put together about 15 songs so far that I think match or beat anything we've done in the past... And I don't make those kind of claims without having something to back it up."We're better than we've ever been, we're tighter than we've ever been, we know what we're doing and the songs are there. It's a matter of getting-together and putting aside whatever differences, or whatever problems people have — which don't seen to surface when we're together, by the way. It's almost like there's two System of a Downs for me."
Asked whether there's one band member who's getting in the way of the new album, John replied:
"Nobody in particular. And the funny thing is we all get into the studio, everybody's getting along great, we have a blast on the road."In our band, the difficulty really isn't, 'Is one of us gonna fall off the wagon or get into a bad situation?'"It's really a matter of, 'Are we gonna come together and make something happen?' It's been about 12 years since we've put out an album..."

Its kind of depressing that a band like this doenst release a new album but maybe their time is over!

Linkin Park’s Bennington Attacks Fan Again

I Totally Agree With Him

Linkin Park as you may know have change their musical direction completely and have gone into a more pop-house path. That lead the band's fans to have a dilemma . Most of them are really mad about the band's decision cause they expect a new Hybrid Theory album . So Bennington strike again with a new interview that attacks to the fan that insist of wanted the band to stay in the same musical direction . And in a new interview with Kerrang Radio, Bennington has again reacted angrily to those who say their new music was made for financial gain.

Bennington says: “Either you like the song or you don’t and if you don’t like the song because you hear it and on a kneejerk reaction it’s like, ‘Oh it doesn’t have metal in it so I don’t like it,’ that’s fine.“But if you’re gonna be the person who says, ‘They made a marketing decision to make this kind of record to make money,’ you can fucking meet me outside and I will punch you in your fucking mouth because that is the wrong fucking answer.“Because guess what, calling us a sell out for that purpose is… selling out on your fucking excuse as to why you don’t like it. You’re a fucking pussy.”

He continues: “For any band to take musical risks because you like what you’re doing in spite of what you know some people will say they don’t like – it doesn’t matter if they like it or not. What matters is that you took the chance to do something that you felt was important to you and that’s what being an artist is all about.
“When we did Minutes To Midnight, this was a conversation we literally had, ‘This could end our career.’ We all had that honest conversation like, ‘I know we’re doing this because this is what we love and this is important to us. This could honestly be the worst decision we’ve ever made professionally. Creatively, probably the best thing, professionally, it might be the worst.’ We were like, ‘We’re good with that. We can live with that.’”He adds: “When you make it a personal attack against who we are as people, like dude, shut up. That means that I can actually have feelings about it and most of the time my feelings are I want to kill you.”
